Imagine turning up for a cannabis awards night and leaving with a magazine featuring Duki on the cover. That's what happened on October 23 at Güid Club, just outside Buenos Aires. Argentina hosted its first High Times Medical Cannabis Cup, with growers, extract makers and glass artists all part of the evening. Ryan Fitt and Matt Robertson were blowing glass live. The place was sold out. Nobody was treating this like a quiet industry meeting.

The bigger surprise came in print. After 52 years, High Times launched its first magazine written and produced originally in Spanish. Duki shares the cover with his friend Mauro 'Maula' Lamonica, a cultivator behind Flowers & Terps. Their interview covers friendship, music, growing and Duki's relationship with cannabis. Mexican rapper Alemán was there too, helping present awards. Some actual hip-hop connections, rather than just a playlist in the background.

The Cannabis Cup started in Amsterdam back in 1988. Now it's arrived in Argentina with local growers, a Latin American editorial team and a cover star millions of fans already know. The same evening that handed out prizes for flower and extracts also put a new hip-hop story on paper. And Duki didn't even need to release a single to make headlines.
