The story kicked off in August 2024 at Marnixstraat 333. What used to be Funky Munkey got a Snoop-style makeover and a new name: S.W.E.D. Yep, *Smoke Weed Every Day*. Not exactly subtle, but since when has Snoop been subtle? Amsterdam's city authorities weren't too thrilled with that message, so the name changed to Tha Dogg House. The hip-hop DNA stayed put, though. The whole place kept its larger-than-life nods to Snoop and that unmistakable California flavour.
Then came February 25, 2026. Another door, another Dogg House, this time at Oudebrugsteeg 26, the former home of coffeeshop De Kroon. And Snoop didn't just send somebody to wave on his behalf. He showed up himself. Hundreds of fans packed the narrow streets to catch a glimpse, while he was already in town for two shows at the Melkweg. Open a coffeeshop, show some love to the crowd, hit the stage. That's quite a day at the office, even by Doggfather standards.
And the story doesn't end with two signs above two doors. During Amsterdam Dance Event in October, the Marnixstraat location got into the music side of things too, with live DJ sets and a broadcast from Amsterdam's Most Wanted. Hip-hop, house and cannabis culture in the same orbit? Amsterdam's been living that mix for years. Snoop just brought a little Long Beach swagger along for the ride. Two Amsterdam addresses, one very familiar name, and a Doggfather who clearly isn't done making noise.
