AkolatroniK Haze? Randy Has Been Busy Outside the Studio

Reggaeton star Randy has launched La Zaza, a cannabis brand with some unusual product names. He has his sights on California, but Puerto Rico comes first.

Randy of Jowell & Randy discussed the development of his cannabis brand La Zaza in October 2026.

AkolatroniK Haze sounds like something you'd find on a reggaeton tracklist. It isn't a song. It's one of the product names Randy is using for La Zaza, his cannabis brand. The Puerto Rican singer, one half of Jowell & Randy, spoke to High Times about the project earlier this month. He says he's been involved in everything from discussing terpenes to testing products and choosing packaging. No idea how much time that leaves for recording, but he's certainly got plenty to say about weed.

Then there's NotaLoka Blend. The brand also has one-gram distillate vapes and fruit gummies sold in packs of ten. Randy wants the whole thing to look expensive without borrowing California's identity. That's where he gets a little competitive. He respects the quality of West Coast cannabis, but thinks the big brands are missing some Caribbean character. La Zaza, he argues, should feel like Puerto Rico. The music, the colours, the attitude. He's even working with specialist companies on the production side. Apparently, launching a cannabis brand involves rather more paperwork than releasing a single.

The business already has commercial agreements in Puerto Rico and Mexico, according to Randy. He's talking about South America next, with Europe somewhere further down the road. Nothing has been announced for Dutch coffeeshops. So AkolatroniK Haze might sound like something you'd spot on an Amsterdam menu, but don't count on finding it there yet. Randy has a brand to build before that happens.
