Amsterdam gets all the international attention. Fair enough. But the Dutch cannabis scene doesn't stop at the capital's city limits. On October 23, coffeeshop 't Kunsje in Nijmegen hosted the Borderless Smoke Sesh, an event bringing Dutch and German cannabis communities together. Tickets sold out. Not bad for a Friday evening outside the usual tourist hotspots.
Hosted by SirSmokeAlotCom and Mr.Smoker42o, the event focused on cannabis from the Netherlands' regulated supply experiment. Fresh flower, hash and extracts were all part of the programme. The idea was simple: discover products, exchange knowledge and meet people who share the same interest. Tickets cost just €5, including a drink, snacks and a goodie bag. Try getting that deal at your hotel minibar.
For visitors who only know the Netherlands through Amsterdam's famous coffeeshop streets, Nijmegen offers a different perspective. Cannabis culture here is also about community, curiosity and people coming together. You don't always need a massive festival or celebrity DJ to make an event interesting. Sometimes a coffeeshop, some good conversation and a room full of enthusiasts do the job.
